🌏大阪・関西万博、ついにフィナーレ！

—184日間の挑戦と感動の記録—

184日間にわたり開催された「大阪・関西万博」が、10月13日午後10時をもって閉幕しました。
閉場後も会場内には多くの来場者が残り、夢洲駅に続く道では、警備員が「せめて駅に向かう素振りをみせてください」と穏やかに呼びかけていたのが印象的でした。
それほどまでに、人々の心を惹きつけた万博——まさに“別れを惜しまれるイベント”でした。

今回の万博には、158の国と地域が参加。
来場者数は2500万人を超え、2005年の愛知万博を上回る成果を収めました。
この数字は、単なる入場者の数ではなく、地域経済や観光業、そして人材育成にも大きな波及効果をもたらした証でもあります。

夢洲という新しい地での開催は、インフラ整備や交通アクセス、運営面など数々の課題も伴いましたが、同時に大阪・関西の底力とホスピタリティの高さを国内外に示す場にもなりました。
現場で働くスタッフ、ボランティア、運営チーム、地域の事業者——すべての人の努力が一体となって、初めてこの成功は成り立ったのだと思います。

私自身、この3か月間、万博に関わる方々と共に過ごした時間はかけがえのないものでした。
現場を少し早めに離れたものの、最後まで現地で奮闘した仲間たちに、心からの拍手を送ります👏

そして今、私は滋賀の地で新たな挑戦に臨んでいます。
湖国・近江の自然と人の温かさに包まれながら、地域の文化や食の力を未来へつなぐ仕事に取り組んでいます。

大阪での経験、万博で感じた“つながりの力”を胸に、
一歩ずつ、滋賀の風土に寄り添いながら歩んでいきたいと思います。

派手なフィナーレの後にも、静かに続いていく日常がある。
その中にこそ、本当の挑戦と成長があるのだと感じます。

感謝を胸に、次の舞台へ。
未来は、きっとまた美しい出会いで彩られていくはずです。

The Osaka-Kansai Expo, which ran for 184 days, came to a close at 10:00 PM on October 13th.
Many visitors remained inside the venue even after closing, and it was striking to see security guards calmly pleading with visitors on the road leading to Yumeshima Station, "Please at least make a show of heading to the station."
Such was the extent to which the Expo captured people's hearts—it was truly an event that was sad to see farewell.

This year's Expo was attended by 158 countries and regions.
With over 25 million visitors, it achieved results that surpassed the 2005 Aichi Expo.
These figures are not just about the number of visitors, but also evidence of the significant ripple effects it had on the local economy, tourism, and human resource development.

Hosting the Expo in the new location of Yumeshima presented numerous challenges, including infrastructure development, transportation access, and operational issues, but it also served as an opportunity to demonstrate the strength and high level of hospitality of Osaka and Kansai both domestically and internationally.
I believe this success was only possible thanks to the combined efforts of everyone involved: the staff working on-site, volunteers, the management team, and local businesses.
