1789年同月日に発生しフランス革命の発端となったバスチーユ監獄襲撃および、この事件の一周年を記念して翌1790年同月日におこなわれた全国連盟祭が起源となっているとの事。
毎年7月14日は、パリがフランス革命記念日のお祝いムード一色に染まる特別な日です。
もちろん、それにはれっきとした理由が存在します。パリは、バスティーユ牢獄が襲撃され、その後のフランス革命のきっかけともなった場所なのです。光の街パリにとって、フランス革命記念日は愛国心を表する日でもあり、お祭りを楽しむ日でもあります。毎年、在日フランス大使館でのレセプションパーティに参加させて戴いておりましたが、４年ぶりの開催だったようです。
コロナ復興を感じています。
