万博とは？
「万博」は世界中からたくさんの人やモノが集まるイベントで、地球規模のさまざまな課題に取り組むために、世界各地から英知が集まる場です。
1970年に日本、そしてアジアで最初に開催された大阪万博(EXPO’70)は日本の高度経済成長をシンボライズする一大イベントとなりました。2025年大阪・関西万博は、 2005年に開催された愛・地球博に続き、20年ぶりに日本で開催される国際博覧会です。

海と空を感じられる会場。

大阪・関西万博の会場は、四方を海に囲まれたロケーションを活かし、世界とつながる「海」と「空」が印象強く感じられるデザインとします。円環状の主動線を設け、主動線につながるように離散的にパビリオンや広場を配置することで、誘致の時からの「非中心・離散」の理念を踏襲しつつ「つながり」を重ね合わせた「多様でありながら、ひとつ」を象徴する会場を創出します。

世界中の「いのち輝く未来」が集う。

大阪・関西万博では、150の国と25の国際機関をはじめ、企業やNGO/NPO、市民団体等が、世界中から「いのち輝く未来社会」への取り組みを持ち寄り、SDGsの達成とその先の未来を描き出します。そのための具体的な取り組みとして、各界のトップランナー8人が自ら創り上げるテーマ事業や、会期前から会期後までを見据えた共創の取り組みである「TEAM EXPO 2025」プログラムなどを行います。

未来の技術と社会システムが見える。

大阪・関西万博のコンセプトである「People’s Living Lab（未来社会の実験場）」に基づき、カーボンニュートラル、デジタル技術、次世代モビリティなど、最先端の技術や社会システムを会場や運営、展示等に活用する未来社会ショーケース事業を行います。さらに、ARやVRなどの先端技術を活用して、会場を訪れることのできない人でも会場外から大阪・関西万博を体験することのできるバーチャル万博を実施します。

快適、安全安心、持続可能性に取り組む。

過剰な混雑が生じないよう、電子チケットを活用した、入場事前予約制度やパビリオン予約制度等の導入を検討するなど、平準化に積極的に取り組み、快適な万博体験の実現を目指します。さらに、感染症対策や防災対策、サイバーセキュリティ対策による安全安心の実現、サステナブルやインクルーシブなど持続可能性に配慮した運営などに取り組みます。

What is an Expo?

An Expo is an event that brings together many

people and things from all over the world, and is a place where wisdom from all over the world gathers to address various global issues.

The Osaka Expo (EXPO'70), the first to be held in Japan and in Asia in 1970, became a major event that symbolized Japan's high economic growth. The 2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo will be the first international exposition to be held in Japan in 20 years, following the Aichi Expo held in 2005.

A venue where you can feel the sea and sky.

The venue for the Osaka-Kansai Expo will take advantage of its location surrounded by sea on all sides and be designed to give a strong impression of the "sea" and "sky" that connects it to the world. By establishing a circular main flow route and arranging pavilions and plazas discretely to connect to the main flow route, we will create a venue that symbolizes "diverse yet united" by overlapping "connections" while following the idea of ​​"de-centered and discrete" from the time of the invitation.

A gathering of "A bright future for life" from all over the world.

At the Osaka-Kansai Expo, 150 countries and 25 international organizations, as well as companies, NGOs/NPOs, and civic groups, will bring together their efforts for a "future society for life" from all over the world to envision the achievement of the SDGs and the future beyond. Specific efforts for this purpose include a theme project created by eight top runners from various fields, and the "TEAM EXPO 2025" program, a co-creation initiative that looks ahead to both before and after the expo.

Visible future technologies and social systems.

Based on the concept of the Osaka-Kansai Expo, "People's Living Lab," a Future Society Showcase project will be held to utilize cutting-edge technologies and social systems such as carbon neutrality, digital technology, and next-generation mobility in the venue, operation, and exhibitions. In addition, a virtual Expo will be held using advanced technologies such as AR and VR, allowing people who cannot visit the venue to experience the Osaka-Kansai Expo from outside the venue.

Striving for comfort, safety, security, and sustainability.

We will actively work to level out congestion by considering the introduction of a system for advance admission reservations and pavilion reservations using electronic tickets to prevent excessive congestion, and aim to provide a comfortable Expo experience. Furthermore, we will work to ensure safety and security through infectious disease prevention measures, disaster prevention measures, and cybersecurity measures, and to operate the Expo in a sustainable and inclusive manner.
